Brauerei Locher and Gebrüder Eberle now offering beer fondue
Appenzell/Gossau - Brauerei Locher has joined forces with the Gebrüder Eberle to create a true Swiss delicacy. The two companies are now offering a beer fondue, which is available to buy from specialist and retail stores.
Brauerei Locher, a brewery based in Appenzell in the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden, Switzerland, and the cheese specialist Eberle from the canton of St.Gallen have jointly developed a beer fondue. As detailed in a press release issued by the brewery, the fondue combines naturally cloudy Quöllfrisch beer with a selection of three regional Swiss cheeses.
“We wanted to create something that combines our two passions – brewing beer and local artisan cheeses”, comments Aurèle Meyer, Managing Director of Brauerei Locher, in the press release. “The result is an unrivalled ready-made beer fondue in a practical pouch that impresses on account of its freshness and creamy taste”, as Renato Mariano, Managing Director of Eberle emphasizes, before adding: “The idea for this partnership came about one Friday afternoon when the teams from the two family companies were enjoying a refreshing, chilled Quöllfrisch”.
The beer fondue is a hearty alternative to the classic cheese fondue, whereby the traditionally used white wine is replaced by beer, as the press release explains. The new beer fondue is now available from selected retailers and via Brauerei Locher’s online shop. ce/ww
