Blumer Lehmann acquires Hächler Holzbau

Wettingen/Neuenhof/Gossau - Blumer Lehmann has agreed a deal to acquire the timber construction division of the Hächler Group. Business activities pertaining to Hächler will be operated under a new name, although the workshops and the timber construction team will remain at the site in Neuenhof. The acquisition is intended to strengthen the timber construction competencies of both companies.

(CONNECT) Blumer Lehmann, a timber construction company based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea, has announced the takeover of Hächler Holzbau, as detailed in a press release. From April 1, 2025, Hächler customers are to be served from the company headquarters in Gossau in the canton of St.Gallen, Switzerland. All existing and new orders are to be processed in the existing workshops, which will continue to be based at the site in Neuenhof in the Swiss canton of Aargau.

Through this takeover, the “top-tier expertise” brought to the table by both companies will lead to the bundling of an “impressively diverse range of services for sustainable timber construction solutions”. The focus will be on conventional timber constructions and prefabricated timber-based construction projects.

This deal also signifies that a successor solution has been successfully found for the timber construction division of Hächler, as the Hächler Group based in Wettingen, also in the canton of Aargau, writes in a press release of its own. Together with managing director Günter Ebner, the company had reportedly been working towards a solution with regard to his successor for quite some time. “Our priority was safeguarding the future of our employees and preserving our long-standing customer relationships”, the Hächler Group explains.

According to information from the company itself, Blumer Lehmann specializes in solutions for the timber industry as well as for timber and silo construction projects. In total, 500 employees work at four locations to deliver skilled craft services for a wide variety of customer projects worldwide.

Hächler Holzbau realizes “small tasks and complex construction projects” using timber as the base material. As the company states, all existing employees are to be retained, while vocational training will also be continued. ce/heg
