Fatzer acquires Canadian company Rocky Mountain Lift Services

Brugg/Romanshorn/Canmore - Fatzer AG, part of the Brugg Group, has acquired Canadian company Rocky Mountain Lift Services & Supplies Inc., which specializes in rope installation for ropeways, structural ropes and mining.

In a press release, Fatzer AG has announced its acquisition of Rocky Mountain Lift Services & Supplies Inc., which is based in the Canadian province of Alberta. Fatzer describes this as a significant step in its North American strategy, enabling it to expand its range of services in the transportation and structural ropes sector. The acquisition will become effective immediately.

According to the press release, the Canadian company has over 35 years’ experience in rope installation for ropeways, structural ropes, and mining. It offers products and services in these areas, such as magnetic resonance testing and maintenance of lift components such as gearboxes and sheaves.

“We are very pleased to build on a long-lasting relationship and to join forces with Fatzer AG,” says Franz Spichtig, owner and CEO of Rocky Mountain Lift Services & Supplies Inc., in a press release issued by his company. Martin Bechtold, CEO of Fatzer AG, says he is confident that Fatzer has “found the right partner” to “expand in the key market of North America”.

Fatzer, which is based in Romanshorn in the Swiss canton of Thurgau and has a 190-year history, develops and produces ropes for ropeways, cable cars and structural applications. The company is part of the industrial Brugg Group, which specializes in rope technology, pipe systems, process control technology and cable systems. The Group has over 2,300 employees and more than 50 subsidiaries, and generates revenue of 650 million Swiss francs. ce/gba
