Forster Group and Die Manufaktur celebrate St.Gallen embroidery tradition
St.Gallen - The Forster Group embroidery companies and the couture workshop Die Manufaktur plan to raise the visibility of the tradition of embroidery at the St.Gallen children’s festival. Anyone who sends in their best children’s festival experience can receive up to two meters of high-quality St.Gallen embroidery for their personal outfit for the festivities.
Forster Rohner and its embroidery companies Jakob Schlaepfer AG and Inter-Spitzen AG are collaborating with the couture workshop Die Manufaktur for the 200th anniversary of the St.Gallen Children’s Festival. Together, the textile companies hope to celebrate and raise the visibility of the city’s tradition of embroidery. They are inviting previous attendees to recount their best tales from children’s festivals and send these in, maybe even with photos. In exchange, they will receive two meters of high-quality St.Gallen embroidery for their own children’s festival outfit free of charge.
The initiative will take place from August 17 to October 27. The Forster Group outlet store on Flurhofstrasse 150 in St.Gallen will open its doors exclusively for all participants on October 30 and 31. On these days, they can select and take away their embroidery from 9am to 6pm. Additionally, the best stories will be rewarded with a tailored children’s festival outfit or an embroidery workshop from Die Manufaktur. The next children’s festival will take place in May or June 2024.
Emanuel Forster, CEO of family company Forster Rohner, commented in a press release: “With this initiative, we plan to celebrate the St.Gallen children’s festival together and enable parents, grandparents, siblings, and other festival visitors to wear St.Gallen embroidery in addition to the support of the schools assigned within the context of Swiss Textiles. Even small embroidered accents draw the eye and bring textile history to life at this event that is steeped in tradition.” ce/mm
