Buchs SG - International School Rheintal is building its new campus in Buchs in the St.GallenBodenseeArea, offering 300 places for pupils. The ground-breaking ceremony has already been held, with the campus expected to be ready by summer 2023.
International School Rheintal (ISR) has held the ground-breaking ceremony for its new campus in Buchs in the canton of St.Gallen according to an article by Tagblatt. The ceremony was attended by the pupils who are currently being taught at the international school: close to 150 children between the ages of 3 and 18 years from 31 countries. The new three-storey building, scheduled for completion in 2023 and located next to the current school building, will provide up to 300 places for pupils.
The investment costs amount to around 30 million Swiss francs, and according to the article “the project costs will be borne in full by the Hilti Family Foundation Liechtenstein”. Michèle Frey-Hilti also took part in the ceremony “and promised the young pupils and their teachers a wonderful school with the most up-to-date technical facilities”.
According to Chair of the Board at ISR Heiner Graf during the ground-breaking ceremony, the new building represents a “milestone” for ISR, which opened in 2002 with 19 pupils. However, Buchs also benefits from the competitiveness of its location. “We are delighted to have this school in our high-tech region,” says Mayor of Buchs Daniel Gut.
