Nüssli to build the interior construction of the Brazilian pavilion for Expo 2025

Hüttwilen/Osaka - Nüssli has been awarded the contract to implement to the interior construction of the Brazilian pavilion for Expo 2025 in Osaka. Brazil is the fifth country to entrust Nüssli with realizing projects for the World Expo, where the Swiss company has already constructed pavilions for Kuwait, Austria, Switzerland and Uzbekistan.

(CONNECTNüssli (Schweiz) AG, the events and construction service provider based in Hüttwilen in the canton of Thurgau, has been awarded a contract by the Brazilian government to handle the interior construction of the Brazilian pavilion for Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, which is set to open on April 13. The pavilion is being developed as a form of “living laboratory” in which visitors are immersed “in the topics of sustainability, social justice and cultural diversity” by way of an “interactive, sensory installation”, as the company explains in a press release.

The interior design concept was developed by the Brazilian film director Beatriz Ferreira Lessa, more commonly known as Bia Lessa, and her team. The exhibition is split into five acts that serve to depict the beauty of nature, the diversity of life, global interconnectedness, decay through human exploitation, and, finally, the possibility of renewal. Visitors are taken on a journey of discovery supplemented by a range of special effects.

“Working on a national pavilion is a great honor in and of itself. When the concept is also based on the idea of a Brazilian cultural legend, it can shamelessly be described as a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity”, as Stefan Sekiguchi, COO Special Projects at Nüssli, explains in the press release.

Inflatable installations made from sustainable materials in the form of recycled plastics are at the heart of the pavilion’s design. The aim here is to symbolize the breathing of our planet while highlighting aspects such as waste recycling and environmental awareness, according to the press release.

The main contractor for the pavilion is the NOE Group, which is also responsible for the design of the outer shell of the pavilion. LC & Partners has been engaged as the supervisor for the project. ce/ww
